MaxxVault Enterprise is a simple to set up and easy to use software tool for the management of documents and electronic files. Matched with the proper hardware and system software, MaxxVault will make managing your documents a snap.
This document provides the recommended hardware requirements to achieve the most effective operation of MaxxVault 6.5.5. MaxxVault requires at least one server for proper function but can be shared over several servers for higher performance if desired. For proper function, all MaxxVault servers require a domain controller to be in place on your network.
Hardware and software specifications set forth herein are intended to support the following logical MaxxVault servers:
MaxxVault Server – Manages and serves up the actual MaxxVault document files and manages transactions and data for MaxxVault index and field data values, transaction logs and Application related objects. It performs: document image import, image bursting, barcode recognition and indexing, as well as controls scheduled events to monitor network drives, print queues, full-text server operations, and archival of inactive documents to archive volumes.
MaxxVault Web Server – Manages all server interfaces for all users accessing MaxxVault Repository from the World Wide Web. The MaxxVault Web Server can be combined with the MaxxVault Server on a single machine in many cases.
Also listed are the suggested requirements for dedicated scan stations:
MaxxVault Production Scan Station – Production Level Scanning Solution for use with low to high volume scanners. Generally, this workstation is dedicated scanning workstation that is located in a central location for easy user access. Perform tasks such as: Barcode Recognition, Document Bursting, Indexing and full-page or zone OCR.
* Please note that in all cases, actual system requirements depend on the number of concurrent users, number of documents being processed on a daily basis, as well as the overall automated processes deployed (i.e. Document Capture Process, Scheduled Events, etc).
